A gracefully hand carved shell profile portrait of the Goddess Flora, mounted in a frame of 9ct yellow Gold and dating, we believe to the early 20th century. Classically harmonious, the Cameo would most likely have been carved by one of the Cameo artisans in Rome who for centuries have been famed as experts and mounted in Britain. This is such a beautiful classical theme.
Unfortunately we're unable to trace the maker's mark 'TWH' which is pressed onto the side of the mount. The Cameo itself measures 3cm by 2.5cm. Chain shown is for display but could be purchased separately.
